The Clean Energy Certification project from Washington’s Department of Labor and Industries is an effort to provide sales and use tax refunds for projects developing clean energy. The program was created as a way for the state to address the impacts of climate change on a large scale.

I was contracted to create a prototype demonstrating how users would submit and manage their project certifications. I created the prototype within Labor & Industries’s theme, including additional UI components.

The prototype included an application, a dashboard where users could manage their projects and track their progress, and a file attachment workflow. Once a project is completed, the user follows an additional workflow to notify the department.
